Sounds

(from 1993)

Our secret formula, then we write and arrange our music is (more or less) this.

Someone presents a theme in the studio, and hopefully someone else will jump in and start jamming with it. In this particular situation, the creative process is very fragile, and at that time it is also a very important ruling that determines if the theme will be used at all. Sometimes it is documented simply using bass, acoustic guitar and a raw organ, just as a sketch so we can get a picture of how the theme works. Then we make a simple recording of the theme. Now it's officially approved by the band and will be developed until it shows up in a song somewhere.

When we start working on a new song, it's usually with a main theme, but it can also be from different fragments that we make a simple arrangement on. From the beginning, we may not even know which is a main theme. After that, we start looking at the previous themes that we either recorded or that we have jammed on lately. Some ideas are embrased and some are thrown away, all are discussed, turned and twisted.

Then we start arranging.

From the rehearsels

Okt 7th 2012

The new constellation of Änglagård have met five times to rehearse old materials. Initially, we will play six songs live, two from eath album.

We also have some time to try out new themes that pops up. Linus always brings his own coffee to rehearsels. He say's he can't stand the instant coffee at the studio, and to be honest, no one else can either. We have to buy him a bigger thermos!

Sep. 23th. From the rehearsals. Just some jamming with a new theme.
